Patient Safety Dashboard - Summary

The NHS Safety Thermometer has been removed as an official NHS Statistic. More details on this can be found in the document here.

It is also proposed that newly formed Central Measurement Unit for the Patient Safety Collaboratives will take on the formal role of analysing and presenting the Safety Thermometer data.

Due to these changes the Improvement Acadmey have decided that we will no longer continuing to update our Safety Thermometer dashboards. We will keep the April 2017 version here for reference.

These charts are used to show changes in performance over time using Statistical Process Control (SPC) rules. They use a Mean average over the last 25 months, and show how the selected Trust compares to the Yorkshire & Humber, and the England average over the same time period. Look for a series of 8 points in a row above or below the Mean to indicate a step-change in performance.

This information is based on the NHS Safety Thermometer data. For further information please see here. To feedback any comments or ideas for improvement please contact Michael Rooney (Senior Improvement Analyst) here.

This dashboard is also available in Excel format. To download and use this please click here.
